SP Goals

School Wide Goals

Climate

  • The number of disciplinary referrals will decrease by 20%.
  • The number of in-house suspensions will decrease by 20%.
  • Increase parent attendance at Principal’s Coffee by 10%.
  • Increase the number of parents participating in SP AASAI by 5%
  • Increase the number of parent volunteers by 10%

Attendance

  • 97% of all Schafer Park students will be on time and attend school on a daily basis.

ELL/ELD

  • Reduce the number of long term English Learners by 10%.
  • By February of 2015, the percentage of English Learners in language instruction educational programs fewer than 5 years (Transitional EL students) attaining English language proficiency will increase from 56% to 66% in order to move toward state-defined expectations for meeting the CELDT criterion for English-language proficiency.
  • By February 2015, the percentage of English learners in language instruction educational programs 5 or more years (Long Term) attaining English language proficiency will increase from 28% to 38% in order to move toward state-defined expectations for meeting the CELDT criterion for English-language proficiency.
  • 15% of all ELL students will be reclassified on a yearly basis.

Math

  • All students will master the Common Core Standards in Mathematics or demonstrate growth towards mastery.
  • Through the use of cycle of inquiry, data dialogues, and lesson study teachers will provide instruction that will result in 10% proficiency level on the Common Core Math standards.
  • By May 2015, 75% students will be able to construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others as measured by the Curriculum Associates Common Core constructed response portion.

English Language Arts

  • All students will master the Common Core Standards in English Language Arts or demonstrate growth towards mastery.
  • Through the use of cycle of inquiry, data dialogues, and lesson study teachers will provide instruction that will result in 10% proficiency level on the Common Core ELA standards.
  • Through the use of Accelerated Reader (Gr. 2-6) and RAZ Kids (K-6) student’s independent reading level will increase by 1.5 years during the 14-15 school year.
  • The number of students scoring proficient on the Fall Opinion Writing Test will increase by 10%

Technology

  • Decrease by 80% the use of paper for school related business.
  • By June 2015, 100% of teachers will use SMART Responders to check for understanding of math concepts once a week.
  • 100% of Certificated Staff at Schafer Park will check their e-mail on a daily basis.
